Nominations for 3rd Annual Critics’ Choice Awards

The Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA) today announced nominations for the 3rd annual Critics’ Choice Television Awards, which will be held June 10.

Breaking Bad was nominated for:

• Best Drama Series
• Best Actor in a Drama: Bryan Cranston
• Best Supporting Actor in a Drama: Jonathan Banks
• Best Supporting Actress in a Drama: Anna Gunn

So, in the middle of everything today, we ran across a hellaciously distressed momma mallard and a bunch of her baby ducks that had fallen down a sewer grate. Another guy was already trying to fish them out, so my friend and I called animal control before we tried to fish the rest of them out. When Animal Control got there, we had all of them out and the mother duck quacking very happily. I was surprised - none of us got snapped at or hurt. I was even holding onto a bag at one point that had all of them in it and she just watched me. 

I love how pleased the momma duck looks in the pic where she’s standing on the dude. Like, “He’s savin’ my babies!”

This happened outside my house once. We heard the mama duck crying super loudly for a while so we went to check her (we thought she was just eating the food we always left for the strays but then it got louder than usual) and all her babies were in the sewer. We were trying to figure out how to get them when the most amazing couple stopped and the woman readily shoved half her body down the hole to get them. She said she’d done it before and saw us struggling (I don’t know how, she came from the wrong side). We got the babies out, sadly one didn’t make it, but we cleaned off the rest of them. The mother never brought the babies around again, but at least we were able to help her. Poor bb.
